A Primer On Commercial Insurance For Your Business Trucks

When it comes to purchasing commercial insurance for your trucks, you must research which types of coverage are best for your company and how to remain within your budget.

Types of Coverage

When you initially shop for commercial insurance for vehicles, you will notice that there are several different types of coverage. The types of coverage that you require will vary greatly depending on the type of trucks you own and the cargo you will carry.

One type of coverage that your fleet will need is commercial auto liability, which will pay for damage to property and bodily injuries in the event of an accident where your driver is at fault. Any vehicle that transports goods must have this coverage prior to registration.

Tom Martino Damages Oregon Business

In November 2004, talk radio host Tom Martino picked up the phone on his consumer-advice show. Unhappy Washington state resident Melissa Feroglia was calling to complain about a jet ski she had purchased in Boring, Oregon at John and Susan Gardner’s Mount Hood Polaris. Unfortunately for the Gardners, Martino’s show was nationally syndicated.

Feroglia told Martino that her jet ski had broken down again and again. According to Feroglia, John Gardner had first promised to refund her money, but had then said that her ski jet was fixed and there would be no refund. Feroglia concluded her woes by telling Martino that at that point the weather was too cold. She would have to wait until spring to try out her jet ski.

Martino, in the flip and annoying way of many talk show hosts who could not be bothered with the facts, then told Feroglia that Gardner was lying to her. Martino and Martino’s producer continued the saga by telling us of a cycle we are all far too familiar with: Calling the shop, being told to contact the manufacturer, contacting the manufacturer, and being told to call the shop again. We don’t know if their tale was true or not.

We do know that Martino said, “Polaris sucks.” The situation further spiraled out of control as Martino encouraged his listeners to contact Mount Hood Polaris and the manufacturer and tell them that they would never again buy any Polaris products.

Case Studies And Business Communication

We were frustrated, my colleagues and I, as we wrestled with a new business idea. We thought it was a great idea but we couldn’t effectively describe, in business communication terms, what it would mean to users.

And, out of our discussions came the idea of writing a case study. If you’re not familiar with them, case studies are a staple of business communication. More specifically, they’re histories of specific business initiatives.

They’re like articles, but they put the reader into the shoes of a person making a difficult decision. Other professions also use case studies; you’ve probably heard of medical case studies, for example. Medical students get a set of facts about a patient, and perhaps some background or context, and then must diagnose the patient’s condition or disease.

Business case studies have proven popular at some university business schools (popular with the profs, at least). In some senses, the case study is the next best thing to being involved in a real case. And, an effective business communication tool, as I’ll explain here.

Modern Business Correspondence

Today we live in a highly modernized period where we can find lots of innovations, practical techniques, and technological advancements compared in the past. Business industry is one of the industries that benefits to the modernized revolution of science and technology. Thus, business communication has a great factor and mean contribution to the success of different businesses. However, computer era invaded the communication world and people thought that the growth of this new dimension will get rid the usual paper we used when it comes to business correspondence. But business correspondence can be use in papers as well as in electronic mail. The types of business correspondence that are use in the business community are business letters, business reports, faxes, memos, and email. Every company uses email to communicate internally and externally to colleagues and clients which is of course related to the field of work. Business letters are commonly used in companies as to request payment, thank customers or to solicit business. There is also a reference line that includes important details such as relevant account, order or purchase number. Remember to include the contact information where the recipients will be able to easily reach you if they have questions or concerns. Regardless of the details, all business letters should follow a standard format which includes the date, the name and address of the recipient as well as sender name and address. Memos are little documents with demanding requests and written properly. Memos should include To, From, Date and Subject. There should have a brief explanation on the exact information or clear instruction which is conveyed to the employees. Business reports refer to a variety of reports including a business proposal, marketing plan, project analysis, or financial overview. To make business reports effective, include summary or recommendation that is not based on personal opinions and make sure to find out exactly what kind of information youre client wants and the questions they want answered in the report. A good communication aids in the exchange of intelligent information or ideas, and with great agreement this may lead to a very successful business. Anyone who is involved in a business must know the importance of writing a good business correspondence. The techniques and style must be simple and the words should be clear and comprehensive. And most of all, it is easy to understand and there must be sincerity behind it.
